Trushal Stone

Here is my niece Rachel standing near the tallest standing stone in Scotland. The Trushal stone on the Isle of Lewis, Outer Hebrides, is reportedly the tallest standing stone (or menhir) in Scotland at roughly 19 feet with possibly another 6-1/2 feet underground. It is generally thought that it marks the site of a major battle in the past. One report has it that it is the remaining stone left from a stone circle and that the second last stone standing was removed in 1914.
